Permits in Texas

01

City by city

Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and the suburbs around each of them issue their own permits and run their own search portals.

02

Outside city limits

Texas counties have limited power to require building permits, so jobs in unincorporated areas often have no permit to find.

03

License numbers to send

Send your TDLR license numbers (for example a TACLA or TACLB air conditioning license), your plumbing license, and any city registrations. Include old numbers too.
